Freddie Augustus Macready Mercer

          Freddie was born in Frome, Somerset and attended Downside Abbey and Westminster Cathedral as a choral scholar. Having travelled around the world in a select chamber choir performing the works of Faure, Byrd and Palestrina he has sung in some of the most prestigious buildings, from St Paul’s cathedral, Frauenkirche church in Munich to St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, Rome. 
After studying Opera at Morley and the National Opera Studio under Mary Hill (RCM/RAM), Freddie took all his training and inspirations and threw himself into writing and performing his own music by attending the Academy of Contemporary Music. Since then, he's worked as studio assistant to Kipper, Stings producer and has written and produced original compositions at the world famous AIR Studios where countless film scores are made. Also, recently Freddie helped conduct and produce recording sessions for the Mission Impossible: final reckoning film at Pinewood Studios.

Having scored the short film ‘Defenders of the Tyrhannean Sea by Jack Shanks and discovering a deep love for scoring to picture, Freddie, based in his studio in South West London is now continuing to expand into the film and tv world, currently working on ‘Finding Paganism’, a series journeying through the occult in modern Britain amongst other films and a music video collaboration ‘Forever Requieme’ with director Shivam Pota where he wrote an original track that the film is based upon. Also, he is currently scoring Guy Potter’s next film ‘Hegoledh’, an award winning Cornish filmmaker alongside Pota’s 'Winter' film coming soon.
Freddie also has had a life long passion for teaching, and helps his students with composition and music production as well as singing and piano from his studio.
